I cannot recommend Maureen’s studio and the Gallinero highly enough if you need somewhere to get creative and productive. The accommodation is delightful and comfortable having been designed and kitted out with the artistic flare of Maureen and Mike. Time just disappears as you sit drawing with nightingales singing outside and wonderful light pouring in over the work bench. You can’t fail to be inspired! Kate Gordon, Scotland–January 2010

Thank you for everything. I am leaving with a wealth of knowledge, but also wonderfully relaxed. You have been so welcoming. I have come to feel really at home in your studio and in Granada. I couldn’t have asked for a better working holiday. I will most definitely be back to visit. Abbie Luck, London – August 2009
This was the best holiday ever! Thank you for all your hospitality. I feel very much at home in your studio and @ your kitchen table. You’ve really inspired me to take art more seriously and to get back to making art. I will certainly keep in touch and hope to return for another workshop! Take good care. Love, Karoline Piedra, Zurich, Switzerland – August 2009 & August 2010

I just returned from a wonderful week learning to use solar plates. Maureen is a great teacher! By the end of the week I had a very nice small edition of one of the prints.
Mike and Maureen are very charming and interesting company (so is their friendly small dog). It is a beautiful place to relax and do some serious printmaking, as well as a good starting point for a Spanish vacation (I went on to Barcelona after the workshop). Perfect for an artist looking for a satisfying and enjoyable working vacation!
Great to hear that you are all doing so well.
I have been using solar plates in an artist’s book I am making – I will send you an image when it is done. Thanks for teaching me so much.
I have suggested to several friends that they take workshops from you – I hope some of them follow up on this.
Toward the tail end of August I spent the week making prints in Pinos Genil with Maureen. Firstly so appreciate being warmly received and fell in love with the studio and Gallinero…I was inspired to work at once and Maureen gave me just the right instructive advice and criticism to push my work further…what a wonderful experience
see you again
